Prophetic Perspective for 2023: BURNING HEARTS 2.0

Then God said, “Behold, I am going to make a covenant. Before all your people I will perform miracles which have not been produced in all the earth nor among any of the nations; and all the people among whom you live will see the working of the Lord, for it is a fearful thing that I am going to perform with you.

Exodus 34:10

June 28, 2022, as I walked into the Trinity Church for our weekly Tuesday Night prayer meeting, I heard the Lord repeatedly begin to say to me “Are You Burning?” I know where that came from originally. It came from the Society of Burning Hearts in Oxford, England in the early 1700s. They were given the name “Holy Club” by fellow students who mocked their devotion to the Lord. They would greet each other at every meeting by looking one another in the eyes and asking this question…..”ARE YOU BURNING?” Men like John & Charles Wesley, John Gambold, George Whitefield and others were part of this small group of burning ones.

The whole prayer meeting I was on my face with an intense burning in my chest. I could both see and hear the words “Are you Burning” as I literally lay there burning. Toward the end of the meeting, Holy Spirit began to say:

“I am calling for a new society of burning hearts. This one will not be relegated to a university, but it will be spread across the land. These are groups of people who have not bowed to the pressure of ridicule or the threats of persecution. They have fixed their eyes on the Son, earnestly sought the Spirit, and allowed the Father to love them to deep wholeness. These societies will stand up in the face of mounting external pressure to bring transformation to cities and nations. The burning hearts society of old included the least likely, but I made them burn and used them to birth defining moments and movements. I desire burning hearts 2.0.”

He continued: The burning heart societies 2.0 will be marked by a few things:

Family – They will live as a family, relate as a family, and love as a family. They will not see or use each other as commodities but will love and honor as family does. Look for strong individuals suddenly coming together to form family collectives of burning hearts.

Diversity – These burning heart societies 2.0 will be gender, age, denomination/stream, and race diverse. They will not be relegated to “one kind” of people but will be “multi groups” that will move in multiplied power because of their inclusivity.

Wisdom – I saw two angels standing in front of me. One had the word “Righteousness” written on its chest and the other has “Justice.” They both held the string of a plumb line. The weight of the plumb line had the word “Words” written on it and the line of the plumb line was fastened to the word “Wisdom.” When I asked the Lord what I was seeing, He said that these burning heart societies 2.0 would realign things with words full of righteousness and justice, but they were grounded in the wisdom of heaven. These groups would move in great wisdom because of where they would go and what they would be called to do. They’ll walk in power, but wisdom will bring them through doors I open that power couldn’t.

He then asked me a question. He asked me: How do you build these societies? I did not know the answer, so I simply asked Him the same question. His response:

You get honest: They were honest with each other, but most importantly, with the Lord. No more hiding discord, resentment, or disagreements. These collectives will only thrive if honesty with the Lord and one another is paramount.

2 Corinthians 8:21 (TPT) – for we intend to do what is right and we are totally open both to the Lord’s inspection and to man’s.

You get desperate: Forget the external circumstances and place great desperation in the One whose eyes burn like fire. What captures your gaze most? These collectives have dealt with their idols and lesser lovers, fixing their gaze on Jesus fully.

Revelation 7:11 – And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God

You have to be willing: One must always be willing to do the hard thing, be obedient on command, and say yes when it hurts. These collectives are willing to do for the Lord what many will not, even to the point of death.

Philippians 2:13 – For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
